SCALE ULTRA SERIES
Debuted at the 2016 Axial Racing Axialfest, the Scale Ultra 5k was born from a necessity to allow those who like to blaze through RC trail courses a place to really let the speed out, a place where instead of yelling "Ultra driver coming through!!," drivers could have their own course to go nuts.
Modeled after his love of Ultra4 and Enduro Moto, Rodney Wills at Axial mapped out a fully separate and special event where drivers could push their bodies and their rigs, bringing in Chris Jones at Altra Footwear to elevate the running and fitness element of the event to a new level. The goal of the Ultra 5k is simple, race hard and push your bodies and rigs to their absolute limits, giving a new challenge and twist to long distance RC events.
Based as a true scale version of Ultra4's King of the Hammers, the Scale Ultra course has technical rock crawling, high speed "run" sections and is the perfect place for one to push their limits and raise their heart rates. Each individual has different goals; to try and contend for the podium, to finish all laps before the cut off or to simply survive, aiming to do better each time they pin a number on.
The Scale Ultra Series is in its second year and is growing fast as more and more runners and drivers are enjoying this new mini sphere of RC.
